start date: January 14, 2016, 8:00 pm EST, 7:00 pm CT, 6:00 pm MT, 5:00 pm PST
number of sessions: 3 (01/21/2016, 01/28/2016)
sign up deadline: 01/7/2016
level: Beginner
requirements: You need to know how to cast-on, bind-off, knit, and purl.
description: This class will be taught over the telephone. It will teach you how to use two circular knitting needles to knit a pair of mittens. You can make a child's or adult's pair of mittens. Directions for both will be given. You will need to know the width of hand between pointer finger and pinkie finger, plus the length of the hand from wrist to tip of the longest finger.
supplies needed:
1. A ball of worstered weight yarn.
2. Two size 8 circular knitting needles length approximately 16 inches long. They don't have to be the same length, but you don't want them to be too long.
3. Scissors.
4. Yarn needle.
5. Stitch markers or rubber bands, 2.
additional comments: I like to use self striping yarn which is available in many places. My favorite is Hobbi Lobbi brand Love That Yarn. One ball will make one adult plus one child size mitten pair or two pairs of child size mittens.
